Quick Tip Tuesday: September 17 – Postcard Design Tips

Posted by QuantumDigital on September 17th, 2013

Did you know that according to the Direct Marketing Association’s 2012 Direct Mail Response Rate Report, despite the perception in the marketing industry that direct mail and telemarketing are less effective than digital channels, it was concluded that direct mail boasts a 4.4% response rate, compared to a rate of only 0.12% for email? Pretty impressive.

For better response, design your postcards to be 70% graphics and 30% text (excluding the address block).

Stay away from decorative fonts for your key messaging. Stick with a simple, easy-to-read font to optimize legibility and responses.

I like sticking with bold font (usually black) so my postcards look professional. Yes, I agree with the 70/30 rule. You don’t want too much text, people will lose interest. Thanks for sharing!
